Sun Tea

My latest fun drink this summer has been sun tea!  A friend passed this along to me and I gave it a try and absolutely love it.  I also mentioned it to my mom and she said they used to do this in Italy too.  I'm beginning to feel like I'm the last to know how to make sun tea.

This is how I made it:  Filled 1 big mason jar (4 cups)  with water and dropped in 4 tea bags for each jar.  Then put outside in the sunniest part of the backyard and let it brew for 2 hours.  After brought it in and took out the tea bags and put the jars in the refrigerator.

I know wouldn't it be easier to just boil water and then drop a tea bag in a cup of hot water?  But this is way more fun and they look so pretty outside.  I love how it doesn't look cloudy and the taste is not sweet.  I'm thinking my next batch of tea I'll drop in some lemon or peach slices.

My husband is a huge fan of sun tea. I didn't experience it until later in life, so I've been a bit skeptical, but I'm coming around. :)

My mama is always making sun tea! I don't care for tea in the summer, but I do agree it's a pretty drink a brewing!
